Your data belongs to you. Arka provides robust export tools to ensure you can move your knowledge base out of the platform in standard, interoperable formats.
Standard Export Formats
Choose the format that best suits your needs for migration or backup.
- Markdown (.md): Portable, plaintext files that preserve your formatting and links.
- JSON Data: A complete machine-readable dump of your entire workspace, including database schemas.
- CSV/Excel: Export your databases and tables as structured spreadsheets for external analysis.
Security & Integrity
Exporting data requires an active Security Vault session to ensure your content is decrypted securely for the export.
- Vault Requirement: You MUST unlock your vault before starting a full workspace export.
- Asset Preservation: All images and files are bundled into a single compressed folder (.zip) for easy management.
- Cross-Linked Metadata: We preserve internal note links so your knowledge base remains connected even outside Arka.
Step-by-Step: Exporting Your Workspace
Move your data in three easy steps:
- Go to Settings -> Security & Data -> Export Content.
- Unlock Vault: Enter your Master Password to authorize the decryption process.
- Configure: Select your preferred format (Markdown/JSON) and scope (Entire Workspace or Specific Notebooks).
- Download: Click 'Start Export'. Arka will prepare your .zip package and notify you once it's ready for download.
